Vizag Run on December18th 2005

WTF – Youth Wing organized Vizag run on 18th December 2005. They have organized a Mega event with the help of famous Cine Artists like Sai kumar and team and well known sports person Mr.Pullala Gopichand. The event was started with the pigeon fly by the Youth Wing President Smt.Kavitha D Chitturi and Secretary Shakumuri Srinivas. About 20000 people of all ages from in and around Vizag participated enthusiastically in the 10K run. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the events.

Competitions in Drawing, Music and Dance on December 4th, 2005

WTF organized competitions in Drawing, Music and Dance Programmes for the Children of WTF Members and Members of the affiliated Associations for the age group of 6 to 11 and 12 to 16 on December 4, 2005 at the WTF Office, Chennai. Drawing and Painting competitions was on depicting Andhra Culture while Dance was associated with ( Kuchipudi Dance / Folk Naatyam / Andhra Naatyam) and Music solo on ( Annamayya / Ramadasu / Tyagaraju Keerthanams ). Their appearance had a dynamic impact and they were really excellent and truly well trained. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the above competition.

Andhra Pradesh Day – Telugu Language Festival was celebrated on October 29th, 2005

Andhra Pradesh Day – Telugu Language Festival was celebrated by the member of World Telugu Federation on October 29, 2005 at Sri.P.Obul Reddy Hall, Chennai. It was followed by a cultural programme, with wonderful and skilled presentations on dance which combines dance and spot painting by Sri.Kiran Subramanyam & Members of Rasika Academy of Performing Arts, Bangalore, which filled the hearts of the audience with great joy and happiness. Smt.S.Jayshree Rao introduced the Chief Guest Smt.Renuka Chowdhury, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Tourism. The Chief Guest spoke on the importance of Telugu Language and received thunderous applause by all for her inspiring speech. The Eminent Speakers Dr.A.B.K.Prasad. Chairman. A.P.Official Language Commission, Padmasri Dr.Y.Lakhsmi Prasad, Head Department of Hindi, Andhra University, Prof.GVSR Krishna Murthy, Former Head, Dept.of Telugu also spoke on the importance and popularity of the Telugu language. They insisted that more emphasis should be thrown on the literature and communication in schools. Merit Awards to Rankers in Telugu were presented by Smt.A.Kamala Chandra Babu.

A Cookery Contest – “Paakasaastra Praaveenyam” on October 22nd, 2005

A Cookery Contest – “Paakasaastra Praaveenyam” was organized by WTF – Women’s Wing on 22nd October 2005 from 3.00 pm onwards at Andhra Social & Cultural Association, Chennai for its members. The competition was on preparation of desserts (Main base – Fresh Fruits) and Snacks. Curry & Baked items (Main Base – Corn or Mushrooms). Delicious dishes were prepared which was mouth-watering. A Quiz on cookery was conducted by Smt.Revathy Shankar and exciting spot prizes were awarded. The sponsorers for the event were Panasonic India Ltd., and Tupperware. Smt.S.Jayshree Rao, Smt.T.Rukmini Devi and Smt.Indira Anand were the co-ordinators of the event.

A Luncheon programme on October 10th, 2005

A Luncheon programme was organized for WTF Members at “Vaibav” Neelankarai, Chennai on 10th October 2005. Also a talk was organized on the importance of Navarathiri & Jammi Tree.

“Tulasi Plant: Its Story and Glory” on September 28th, 2005

A Lecture by Smt.Manjulika Jhaver, Founder, Parampar Movement on “Tulasi Plant: Its Story and Glory” was organized by WTF – Women’s Wing & Youth Wing on 28th September, 2005 at Ramakrishna Buildings. Chennai. Mrs.Kavitha D Chitturi, President, Youth Wing welcomed the Guest. The audience were enthused after knowing the values of the Tulasi Plant. Some Saplings were also placed for sale. Mrs.S.Jayshree Rao thanked the guest and the members for their participation.

Free medical camp on September 14th, 2005

On 14th September 2005 WTF organized a free medical camp with the help of local doctors and Dr. Naik from Eshodha Hospital, Hyderabad. They have conducted Aids Awareness Programme and conducted ECG and general check up for the public at Macherla, Guntur District and KCP sponsored medical aid for one boy. This was organized by Mr.Chandramouli, Mr.G.Radhakrishna and Mr.Vijaya Kumar. The day being President’s birthday she had also participated.

13th Anniversary was celebrated on September 10th, 2005

World Telugu Federation's 13th Anniversary was celebrated on September 10, 2005 at Maganti Ravindranath Choudary Hall, Hyderabad. The President Smt.V.L.Indira Dutt addressed the gathering. The report on WTF activities was read by The Secretary General, WTF. The Vice President, WTF welcomed the Chief Guest Hon’ble Sri K.Rosaiah, Minister for Finance, Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Guest delivered his address and was followed by the Guests of Honour. Dr.A.Manjualatha, Vice Chancellor, Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Sri.A.V.S.Raju, Industrialist & Poet, Sri.Sai Kumar, Noted Movie Artiste. Smt.Lakshmi Thulasi, Stage Artiste (Tenali), were felicitated in the programme. It was followed by a cultural programme, from 6.00 pm onwards which filled the hearts of the audience with great joy and happiness. Wonderful Classical Dances were performed by Smt.Geetha Ganesh & Party, Hyderabad. Folk dances were performed by A.P.Folk & Tribal Cultural Association Artistes. The members appreciated the performance. Sri.Paruchuri Hanumantha Rao, Vice Chairman, WTF Regional Committee concluded the programme with vote of thanks.

Lecture on Flower Therapy (Bach Therapy) on August 21st, 2005

WTF – Women’s Wing organized a Demonstaration – Lecture on Flower Therapy (Bach Therapy) by Dr.S.Balakumar, Noted NLP and REIKI therapist on Sunday, August 21, 2005 at Andhra Social and Cultural Association, Chennai. Smt.S.Jayshree Rao, President WTF Women’s Wing welcomed the members. The Chief Guest Dr.S.Balakumar was honoured by the President Smt.V.L.Indira Dutt. A Question/Answer session was opened to the members on the topic.

Spiritual Programmes on June 19th, 2005

WTF, organized Spiritual Programmes for its members on June 19, 2005 at the South Indian Film Chamber Auditorium, Chennai. A speech on “Spiritual Values” was delivered by Shri Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma. The audience congratulated him for his pious speech. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Smt.K.Srilakshmi Mohan Rao

Quiz Programme on June 18th, 2005

WTF organized a Quiz Programme by Sri.P.Omkar, Popular Writer and Artiste for WTF Members on June 18, 2005 at Ramakrishna Buildings, Chennai. The prizes were distributed by Smt.V.L.Indira Dutt, President World Telugu Federation. The organizers thanked the participants for their co-operation and involvement, which made the programme very exciting.

Ugadi Celebrations on April 24th, 2005

WTF, Coimbatore Chapter Celebrated Ugadi on 24th April, 2005 at Velumaniammal Hall, Coimbatore. Smt.V.L.Indira Dutt, WTF President presided over the function. Sri Lagadapati Rajagopal, M.P.(Member of Lok Sabha) was the Chief Guest and Sri Samineni Udhayabhanu, M.L.A. Jaggyapeta and Dr.(Mrs.) Mridubhashini Govindrajulu, FRCSC, Clinical Director, Womens Centre, Coimbatore were the Guest of Honour. Smt.V.S.Ramadevi, Former Governor of H.P. & Karnataka received the “Yarlagadda Prabhavati – Sambhu Prasad Puraskar.” Telugu Classes were inaugurated by Dr.A.Manjualatha, Director, Telugu Academy, Hyderabad. The members were entertained by “Nrithyotsavam” Kuchipudi Dance performed by Sri.Madhavapeddhi Murthy & Disciples of Siva Foundation, Chennai which was followed by Dinner.

“Indian Women Today and Tomorrow” on April 23rd, 2005

WTF, Women’s wing meeting on “Indian Women Today and Tomorrow” (Opportunities and Rights) was held on 23rd April 2005 at GRT Grand Days - Convention Hall, Chennai. Smt.V.L.Indira Dutt, WTF President, addressed the gathering.Dr.J.Geeta Reddy, Hon.Minister for Tourism, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh was the Chief Guest for the programme. The Distinguished Guests were Ms.Rajyalakshmi Papa Rao, Hon.Judge, Consumer Court, Delhi who spoke on “How Consumer Courts can help Women” and Ms.Geeta Ramaseshan, Leading Advocate. Madras High Court. Chennai spoke on “Women Rights”. The audience were inspired by their words and they gave applause. Dr.(Smt.) Koteswaramma, Educationalist, Vijayawada, felicitated over the programme.

On April 16th, 2005 Ugadi Celebrations at Visakhapatnam

On 16th April 2005 Ugadi Celebrations were conducted at Visakhapatnam. WTF felicitated Sri K.J.Rao, Election Commission Advisor and Pandit Vedula Subramanyam. During the function “Yarlagadda Prabhavati – Sambhu Prasad Puraskar” was offered to Dr.Naidamma.

Ugadi Celebration at South Indian Film Chamber Auditorium on April 3rd, 2005

On April 3, 2005 WTF organized Ugadi Celebration at South Indian Film Chamber Auditorium, Chennai, and invited Acharya Devalla Chinni Krishnaiya as Chief Guest who explained the history and also spoke on the importance of the festival. Dance programme was performed by Kumari Amuktha Malyada. During the function one student who obtained 1st rank in Telugu was awarded.

The Pristine Glory of Telugu Language and its Preservation on March 4th, 2005

A meeting on The Pristine Glory of Telugu Language and its Preservation was held at Vani Mahal, Chennai on 4th March, 2005. Sri Mandali Buddha Prasad, M.L.A., Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Sri.K.Gopinath. M.L.A. Tamilnadu Assembly were the Distinguished Guests of the day.Dr.Madugula Nagaphani Sharma, Eminent Telugu Scholar and Avadhana Saharsraphani spoke on the ‘Glory of Telugu Language’. Smt.V.L.Indira Dutt, WTF President presided over the function. The members were welcomed by Sri.B.S.R.Krishna, Secretary General of WTF.Annamaiah Keerthanas were rendered by Sri.Somu Umapathi & Party (Tirupati).

Commencement of Telugu classes effective February 15, 2005

Telugu classes have been started on 15th February, 2005 by Sri.Jayshree Rao, Sri.Kala Sudha Srinivas and Mr.Shankar, Headmaster of Sri.V.Ramakrishna Higher Secondary school. About 60 students attended the classes and were benefited.
