Annual Meet on May 07th, 2009
The World Telugu Federation’s Annual Meet, held on Sunday, July 5, 2009, at Velumaniammal Hall in Coimbatore, featured Dr. V.L. Indira Dutt, the Federation President, presiding over the event, with Smt. Rama V delivering the welcome address. Distinguished delegates included Sri N. Raghuveera Reddy, Honourable Minister of Agriculture for Andhra Pradesh; Sri R. Venkatachalam, Worshipful Mayor of Coimbatore; Dr. G. Gangaraju, eminent industrialist and educationist; and Sri K.G. Balakrishnan, Chairman of the KG Group of Industries, alongside cine artiste Kum. Sneha. The evening concluded with a vote of thanks by Sri A.S.N. Murthy, Vice Chairman of the Coimbatore Region, and was followed by a cultural program titled “GIRJA KALYANAM,” featuring a Kuchipudi dance ballet directed by Sri Bhagavatula Sethuram and performed by Kalaratna Smt. Vanaja Uday and her group.
Andhra Pradesh Avataran Utsavam
The World Telugu Federation (W.T.F.) held the Andhra Pradesh Avatarana Utsavam on Sunday, November 1, 2009, at the W.T.F. Auditorium, Ankur Plaza, T. Nagar, Chennai. The event was presided over by Dr. V.L. Indira Dutt, President of W.T.F., who welcomed the attendees. Sri Gollapudi Maruthi Rao, a renowned writer and cine artiste, served as the chief guest, adding a touch of literary and cinematic excellence to the occasion. Sri J.M. Naidu, Secretary of W.T.F., delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all involved.The evening was marked by vibrant performances and engaging discussions, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended. The event underscored W.T.F.’s dedication to celebrating and promoting Telugu culture.
Telugu Festival Sravana Masam at Broadway
On July 26, the World Telugu Federation organized a vibrant series of competitions in celebration of the Sravana month, showcasing exceptional talent from students of various ages. Children aged 8 to 14 impressed with their articulate speeches on language and culture, while youth between 15 and 21 captivated the audience with their heartfelt performances of traditional Telugu songs. The sloka recitation, featuring verses from the Bhagavad Gita and Potana Bhagavata, was a melodic highlight. The event also included a spirited question-and-answer session on Andhra Pradesh’s history and culture. The prize distribution ceremony was chaired by Dr.V.L. Indira Dutt, President of the World Telugu Federation, with an inspiring message from Sri D. Venkateswara Rao, Chief Manager of Syndicate Bank, and salutations from Smt.Meera Shekhar. The day’s events were expertly organized by Secretary Smt. Srilakshmi Mohana Rao and Telugu Education Program Manager Sri A.M. Shankar. With over two hundred participants, the competition was a resounding success, leading to widespread calls for more frequent events.
Virodhi Ugadi Celebration Chennai
The Virodhi Naama Samvatsara Ugaadi Celebrations were organized by the World Telugu Federation on Saturday, March 21, 2009, commencing at 4:00 p.m. The event began with a welcome and presidential address delivered by Dr.V.L. Indira Dutt, the President of the Federation. Sri J.M. Naidu, the Secretary of W.T.F., introduced the Chief Guest, Justice V. Ramaswami, a former Supreme Court Judge. Dr. A. Sivarama Prasad, the Treasurer of W.T.F., expressed gratitude through the vote of thanks. The celebration included a variety of cultural performances by Kumari Ghantasala Veena Ratna Kumar and others.
WTF WOMENS WING
The WTF Women’s Wing hosted the “Body and Mind” Programme on December 10, 2009, at 4:00 PM at the WTF Auditorium, Ankur Plaza, Chennai. Dr. V.L. Indira Dutt, President of WTF, presided over the event. The session featured insightful presentations by Smt. Gudimetla Kusuma and Smt. T. Rukmini Devi, President of the Women’s Wing. Dr. G. Bharathi, Secretary of the Women’s Wing, coordinated the programme. The event focused on exploring the connection between physical health and mental well-being. Attendees engaged in a comprehensive discussion on holistic health practices. The programme aimed to enhance understanding and promote wellness in both body and mind.
