Ugadi Celebrations
The Ugadi celebrations organized by the World Telugu Federation took place on the evening of April 1, 2016, at Vanimahal in Chennai. The event was presided over by Dr. V.L. Indira Dutt garu. Dignitaries included the Chief Guest, Sri Mandali Buddhaprasad, Deputy Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Legislature, Chief Secretary Sri Adiseshaiahgaru, Secretary Smt. SriLakshmimohan Rao, Deputy Secretary Sri Bethireddy Srinivas, Treasurer Dr. Sivarama Prasad, and Justice Smt. T. Meenakumari.Dr. Indira Dutt welcomed everyone and emphasized the importance of preserving Telugu culture and traditions. The Panchanga reading was conducted by Sri Ashwini Shastri and Sri Rohini Shastri, who predicted an auspicious year despite its name, Durmukhi. The Chief Guest, Sri Mandali Buddhaprasad, praised the Federation’s efforts and highlighted the significance of the newly inaugurated ‘Sanskritika Niketanam’ in Vizag. The event concluded with a cultural program featuring devotional songs by Kumari Suryagayatri and performances by Srimati Srivardhani Thaman and Sri Sai Charan.
23rd Anniversary Celebrations
The World Telugu Federation commemorated its 23rd Anniversary on July 25, 2016, at Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad. The event featured distinguished guests, including Dr. K. V. Ramana, IAS, from the Telangana State Government Advisory, and Sri Paruchuri Narendra, Managing Director of Pragathi Offset Pvt. Ltd. Cultural performances included a Kuchipudi dance by Smt. Preethi Thathambotla, followed by a “Bathukamma” dance recital presented by the Daakshinaatya Arts Academy. The musical segment showcased renowned film singers such as Dr. Vandemaataram Srinivas, Hemachandra, Usha, Geetha Madhuri, and others. Additionally, Dr. K. Srinivas, Editor of Andhra Jyothi, was honored by Sri B.S.R KrishnaPrasad along with federation’s President, Dr. V.L. Indira Dutt, and other members.

World Telugu Federation celebrated Janmashtami in August 2016, in the Federations Office in Ankur Plaza, G.N.Chetty Road, T. Nagar. The program was presided by Dr. V.L. Indira Dutt.
Womens Wing
Youth Program – Sankalpam
A program named “Sankalpam” was held on September 15, 2016, under the auspices of the Youth Wing of the World Telugu Federation, led by Dr. V. L. Indira Dutt. The event featured Andhra Pradesh TDP Tanuku MLA and former President of the Singapore Telugu Society, Honourable Sri Arimilli Radhakrishna, as the Chief Guest, who commended the service initiatives undertaken by the Federation. The cultural segment included performances such as a dance drama by Ramu’s Troupe from Tanuku, a Kuchipudi Ring Dance by Jawwadi Ambika’s troupe, and devotional songs by Harshita’s troupe, providing entertainment for attendees. The program also recognized donors and artists, while the Federation celebrated Dr. V. L. Indira Dutt’s birthday, with the honoree cutting a cake alongside the performers on stage. Notable participants included WTF Vice President Smt. Kavitha Dutt Chitturi, General Secretary Sri Adiseshaiah, Smt. Indira Anand Akkineni, and Youth Wing President Sri Manam Ravi Babu, all of whom contributed to the event’s success. A lavish dinner featuring a variety of Konaseema dishes was served to guests.
Health Program
On May 28, 2016, the Women’s Wing of the World Telugu Federation engaged its members in a focused and enjoyable health awareness session. Experts provided insights into the medical applications of acupressure beds, while professionals conducted live demonstrations of the treatment, elucidating its advantages.
Youth Social Event
On August 4, 2016, the World Telugu Federation Youth Wing held an event at the Children’s Hospital in Egmore. Dr. V.L. Indira Dutt, Federation’s President delivered an engaging speech. The event saw the participation of General Secretary, Treasurer Dr. Sivarama Prasad, and members of the Union Executive Committee, along with medical staff and journalists. Highlights included Dr. Indira Dutt giving gift kits to mothers of newly born and interactions with the medical team and visiting guests. The event underscored the collaborative efforts of the Federation’s youth wing and medical team.
