24th Anniversary Celebrations

The 24th Anniversary of the World Telugu Federation, titled “Telugu Vaibhavam,” was celebrated on August 5th and 6th, 2017. The event featured a variety of activities, including stalls, poetry recitations, Lalitha Sangeetham, and both cultural and folk dance performances for participants of all ages. Justice Sri N Rammohan Rao, a judge from the Madras High Court, served as the chief guest and praised the Federation’s 24-year commitment to preserving the Telugu language, culture, and social values.

The first day of celebrations on August 5th included Lambadi dance, a light music singing competition, and theatrical performances such as “Paramananda Shishyulu,” “Vridasramam,” and “Cinema Pichhollu,” along with folk music and poetry recitation contests, where prizes were awarded. The second day featured Kuchipudi and folk dance performances, as well as poetry recitation competitions, with enthusiastic participation from children and adults across various regions. Both days also showcased handloom and handicraft stalls, along with food vendors. The closing ceremony was attended by Dr. V.L. Indira Dutt and other distinguished guests, including IAS officer Ms. Usha Kakarla and National Hindi Academy president Smt. Pramila Anand, along with regional heads of the Federation.

26th Republic Day Celebrations

The 68th Republic Day was observed at the WTF office on January 26, 2017, with Dr. V. L. Indira Dutt serving as the presiding officer. The event was honored by the presence of Chief Guest Sri Ram Sagar, a former Indian Naval Officer, and Chief Guest Sri Shivashankar Reddy, Director of AIR. Sri Ram Sagar expressed his appreciation for the sacrifices made by freedom fighters, emphasizing the importance of remembering them during such commemorative events. Sri Shivashankar Reddy highlighted the duty to educate the younger generation about the contributions of these freedom fighters. To mark the occasion, elocution competitions were conducted, and awards were presented.

Mighan Health Bed Program

A Health Awareness Camp took place on February 21, 2017, at the WTF Auditorium located in Ankur Plaza, G.N. Chetty Road, T. Nagar. The event featured Dr. Sarat Battina and Dr. Srilatha Kankanala as the keynote speakers.

Womens Wing Program

International Women’s Day was observed on March 3, 2017. The event featured notable attendees, including Dr. V.L. Indira Dutt and Smt. Pramila Anand, President of the Women’s Wing, along with other members. Smt. V. Aruna Subbarao, a folk and parody singer, received the “Sampradaya Gana Shiromani” award, which was followed by a cultural performance by her and her group.
