Message from Dr. V. L. Indira Dutt, President, World Telugu Federation
An Insight into Our Vision and Goals for a Brighter Future
Dr.V.L. INDIRA DUTT
Greetings to the Telugu community!
Wherever we may find ourselves, it is essential that we proudly uphold our mother tongue and celebrate our heritage. Let us boldly declare our Telugu identity to the world, irrespective of our location or profession. Regardless of where we reside, let us always converse in Telugu with our fellow Telugu speakers, thereby preserving our rich culture and traditions.
Established in 1993, the World Telugu Federation (WTF) has united Telugu organizations worldwide with a shared mission: to champion the Telugu language, culture, arts, heritage, and traditions. For over three decades, WTF has been dedicated to empowering Telugu communities globally by safeguarding our language, culture, traditions, and supporting Telugu artists. Embracing the motto “Unity is strength,” WTF recognizes and honors Telugu language enthusiasts, poets, artists, and accomplished youth across diverse fields, providing them with platforms to showcase their talents.
Today, it is incumbent upon our youth to carry forward the legacy of thousands of years of Telugu history and glory to future generations. Our elders and cultural institutions must instill a deep passion for the Telugu language, culture, and traditions in the younger generation through various programs and initiatives. Remember, while one may acquire proficiency in numerous languages, one should never forget their mother tongue. With over 150 million Telugu speakers worldwide, our youth hold the key to our community’s future. As the third most spoken language globally, Telugu’s prominence is undeniable. It is my fervent hope that our youth will serve as bridges, ensuring the continuity of Telugu language, culture, and traditions for generations to come.
To the youth, I extend a heartfelt invitation:-
Join hands with the World Telugu Federation in its noble endeavor to preserve and advance Telugu language, culture, traditions, and arts by becoming lifetime members. Visit the WTF website for details on enrollment procedures, eligibility, and applications. As part of WTF, young men and women will have the opportunity to participate in International Telugu conferences held worldwide, showcasing their talents and actively contributing to organizing the conferences. I invite Telugu youth from different states and countries to embrace WTF membership. Within the WTF executive committee lies a dedicated “Youth Wing,” and I earnestly hope our youth will play pivotal roles in the federation’s growth and development.
