Insights Of 1st Biennial Conference
The First Congress of the World Telugu Federation, held in Madras from December 28-30, 1994, was a major gathering of nearly 2,000 delegates from around the world under the presidentship of Sri V.L.Dutt , including prominent figures like Dr. Chitturi Satyanarayana, Dr. U. Visvesvara Rao, Dr. Bejawada Gopalareddy, and Ms. Anasuya Sulu. Inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NANDAMURI TARAKA RAMA RAO, the congress featured traditional performances, including dramatic roles by Sri Achanta Venkatarnangari and Sri Gummadi Gopalakrishna, and keynote addresses on technology and health by Dr. Srinivasa Rao, Dr. Kidambi Raghunadh, Dr. V. Seshaiah, and Dr. G. Subrahmanyam. The event celebrated global Telugu achievements, awarding Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin the ‘Telugu Teja’ award and highlighting significant contributions and donations from delegates such as Dr. D.V.S. Raju and Mr. Paul Naidu.
