The 5th Biennial Conference was held in Singapore from December 27 to December 29, 2002, under the distinguished guidance of Sri D.V.S. Raju, who served as the President of the World Telugu Federation. This three-day gathering was marked by a variety of conferences, award presentations, and cultural showcases, fostering a lively environment for all participants. The inaugural day featured Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, as the Chief Guest, who officially opened the event. The proceedings were further enhanced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including BG(NS) George Yeo, the Honorable Minister for Trade and Industry of Singapore, Dr. M.V.V.S. Murthi, M.P., Dr. Pratap C. Reddy, Chairman of Apollo Hospitals, Sri B. Ramalinga Raju, Chairman of Satyam Computers, Sri GVK. Reddy, Chairman of GVK Industries, Dr. V.L. Dutt, Chairman of KCP Industries, Dr. V. L. Indiria Dutt, Vice President of the World Telugu Federation, Smt. K. Sucharitha Reddy, President of the Women’s Wing of the Federation, and Sri Ch. V. Sambasiva Rao, President of the Singapore Telugu Samajam, all of whom contributed to the conference’s discussions. The following days were devoted to seminar sessions, paper presentations, and panel discussions that addressed significant topics such as women’s empowerment, the role of youth in the new millennium, trade and industry, and the arts and culture, all enriched by captivating performances from celebrated artists and participation from prominent figures in the Telugu film industry, culminating in a grand celebration of Telugu culture and advancement.
